The Higher Education Funding Council for England has announced the next phase of its sponsorship programme in social entrepreneurship.
HEFCE announced that is to co-fund 24 social entrepreneurship projects involving higher education institutions, student bodies, social enterprise support agencies and private companies. The Social Entrepreneurship in Education (SEE Change) programme is the third phase of a 5-year collaboration with the social entrepreneurship organisation UnLtd and is aimed at building the capacity of higher education institutions to support social initiatives.
Eighteen higher education institutions and 47 other partners are involved in the funded projects. The programme has three strands: regional and thematic clusters, focusing on knowledge exchange and network development; scale and growth partnerships, which will work with social investment experts; and innovation partnerships, which will look at enhancing the overall support ecosystem.
