Jisc launches programme to boost data efficiency

A collaborative project launched by Jisc aims to make access to research data more efficient.

The UK’s higher education ICT organisation is offering between £5,000 and £120,000 for teams to find and develop technological tools, software or services to improve the use and management of data. Ideas are to be put forward via Ideascale, an online platform that allows users to vote and comment on proposals.

Jisc says it expects this form to allow ideas to be refined and for “idea owners” and interested parties to join forces and collaborate further on proposals. This will culminate in the discussion of 30 ideas at a workshop in early spring 2015.
