The Health Research Authority has said that “all research” should be published and has called for a global discussion on the reporting of clinical trial results.
The HRA’s position was laid out in a formal response to a World Health Organization public consultation on the accessibility of trials results. The agency said that all research, not only clinical trials, should be published. “it is important that discussion takes place on a global platform regarding requirements, extent and timescales for publication and reporting,” it said.
The HRA also welcomed the consultation itself, saying that it could "only add to support for all clinical trials globally to be publically registered and published on standardised terms”.
