Johnson: TEF here to stay, despite tuition fees freeze

The Teaching Excellence Framework has enough reputational and financial incentives to drive progress in higher education even though the government has decided to freeze tuition fees at £9,250, according to Jo Johnson.

Speaking at a fringe event at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester on 3 October, the science and universities minister said that the TEF remains “absolutely vital” for holding higher education institutions to account on value for money and student outcomes.
