ESA presses UK on space station

The UK is said to be under pressure from the European Space Agency to substantially increase its contribution to the International Space Station.

Members of ESA are demanding that the UK steps up its contribution to the ISS over the next three years to help fill a shortfall in the budget to send astronauts to the station after 2019, according to the Financial Times.

A report published in the newspaper on 5 June said that an initial demand had been rejected by London.
