Government departments will be expected to manage more of the UK's aid budget as the Department for International Development’s proportion of aid spending continues to fall.
The shift is confirmed in a review of Official Development Assistance (ODA) by the National Audit Office, published on 18 July.
It means that departments such as the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will take responsibility for more aid spending, on top of existing ODA funds such as the Newton Fund and the Global Challenges Research Fund.
