Jordan joins Newton Fund

Researchers in the UK and Jordan will soon be able to apply jointly for funding from the Newton Fund for development projects.

The collaboration will focus on five main areas—energy, water management, agricultural technology and food security, cultural heritage, and nanotechnology—the Newton Fund said in a statement released on 16 August.

Jordan is the 18th country to sign an agreement with the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to participate in the Newton Fund, which supports collaborative research projects carried out by researchers in the UK and developing countries that aim to address challenges that otherwise hinder development.
