Public health agency draws up plans for £400m science hub

Public Health England has filed a planning application for a £400-million science hub in Harlow, Essex.

Public Health England acquired the site from GlaxoSmithKline in July and intends to move most of its health research facilities from its existing sites in Porton, Wiltshire, and Colindale, north London, and its London headquarters, to the campus.

Experts at the site will conduct research into cancer, mental health, nutrition, smoking, alcohol, diabetes, infectious diseases, environmental hazards and climate change.
