The UK government’s Defence and Security Accelerator is testing a novel strategy for attracting innovative ideas or products to improve national security, inviting researchers and businesses to submit a one-page pitch for a share of £4.5 million.
The accelerator’s open call, issued on 18 September, invites applicants to submit a brief description for a concept, product or service at any stage of development that could help to make the UK safer.
The pilot project aims to encourage applications from researchers and suppliers who are new to the defence and security field and might not otherwise apply, the accelerator said in a statement.
