British Academy president David Cannadine and the Royal Society’s policy director Ottoline Leyser are among five appointments to the prime minister’s Council for Science and Technology.
The other three appointments to the advisory council are: Joyce Tait (above, right), director of the University of Edinburgh’s Innogen Institute; Max Lu, nanotechnologist and vice-chancellor of the University of Surrey and Suranga Chandratillake, an entrepreneur and computer engineer, who is now an early-stage technology investment specialist at Balderton Capital.
In a statement issued on 5 September, the CST also said that Nicholas Stern, former president of the British Academy, will remain a member of the council.
