GO Science programme funding remains frozen

The Government Office for Science’s 2016-17 programme funding amounted to £1.1 million, the same amount as it received a year before.

The figure, revealed in GO Science’s annual report, means that the office’s programme funding has fallen by 57.7 per cent compared with five years ago, when it amounted to £2.6m.

In the report, published on 6 September, GO Science said it had reduced its programme outgoings due to “more efficient” procurement of science advice.
