NHS plans to simplify research come into force

The NHS has announced the details of its plans to make the UK a more attractive place to carry out biomedical research while reducing healthcare service costs.

From 1 October, revised arrangements came into place to better manage excessive treatment costs in non-commercial research, as well as plans to reduce delays and improve commercial clinical research set-up and reporting.

The changes include a set of measures to reduce delays in establishing clinical trials in multiple locations.
