Thousands of Horizon 2020 awards missing from Brexit portal

The science minister has urged UK businesses benefitting from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework programme to register the details of their projects to ensure they can continue to be funded in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has called upon businesses to provide UK Research and Innovation with basic information about their projects through an online portal.

BEIS says that potentially 8,200 projects could be eligible to register, but as of 28 January there had only been 5,500 registrations. About 4,500 of these are from higher education institutions and about 1,000 are from businesses, research organisations, public bodies and charities.
