UK and Canada hail closer relations

Collaborative research between the UK and Canada is expected to flourish following an agreement between the two countries.

UK Research and Innovation and the Canada Research Coordinating Committee signed a letter of understanding on 12 February outlining an ongoing partnership that will focus on “a bottom-up, agency-to-agency approach to research, science and innovation”, UKRI said in a statement.

As part of this partnership, the two countries will work towards a single peer-review process for joint projects and will help to facilitate bilateral research, innovation and training activities. The partnership also seeks to move beyond the remit of just UKRI and the CRCC, incorporating other agencies and government departments in their partnerships.
