Respondents to the consultation on the Research Excellence Framework 2021 have broadly opposed the Stern review proposal of not allowing portability of results in the next exercise.
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), which carried out the consultation on the REF, published a summary of the 388 formal responses on 11 September.
Non-portability of results, one of the changes proposed in the review of the REF carried out by former British Academy president Nicholas Stern, emerged as an area of contention.
