Academics push for another REF delay amid third lockdown

Calls for REF March deadline to be pushed back again as national lockdown begins

Pressure is growing on the four UK funding bodies to delay the Research Excellence Framework once again as a third lockdown begins in England.

On 5 January the REF team said they were “keeping a number of areas under close review” ahead of the 31 March submission deadline, although they stressed that “no further changes to the exercise have been made at this stage”.
