Cherry Canovan, a Lancaster University PhD student of mathematical physics at the Cockcroft Institute, has won an award for inspirational women for pursuing her research career while having a family.
Canovan won the “Returner” category of the The Hot Women Awards 2011, hosted by Red magazine, for going back to research after having a family.
