Researchers applying for new investigator grants from the Natural Environment Research Council must from now on prove they are responsible for managing the money, according to an updated version of the council’s grants handbook published on 1 October.
The handbook states that, as of the December 2012 grant round, new investigators must provide a principal investigator leadership statement to the council. There may also be a co-investigator included in applications for new investigator grants, but the applicant must be the principal investigator.
