Research Councils UK has put a figure on the minimum amount of money that it expects institutions to pay doctoral students in 2012-13.
It has set the minimum stipend for these students at £13,590 for the year ahead. It has also confirmed that the research councils will pay a maximum of £3,828 towards studentship fees in 2012-13.
