The Science and Technology Facilities Council's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory has unveiled the UK's most powerful graphics processing unit-based supercomputer, Emerald.
The laboratory will host and operate Emerald alongside the Iridis 3 system hosted by the University of Southampton. The combination of these two high performance computing systems will give businesses and academics unprecedented access to a super-fast processing capability, the STFC said in a statement.
