The Arts and Humanities Research Council has launched a research centre to examine the “changing nature of copyright and the need for new business models in the digital age”.
The Centre for Creativity, Regulation, Enterprise and Technology will be led by the University of Glasgow in partnership with the universities of East Anglia; Edinburgh; Goldsmiths, University of London; Nottingham; St Andrews; and Strathclyde.
The centre is funded by a £5 million grant from by the AHRC, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council. The University of Glasgow is committing a further £1.7m to research posts in its Colleges of Arts and Social Sciences “to establish CREATe as an international centre of research excellence”.
