‘New language’ needed for science-design collaboration

Scientists, engineers and designers need new forms of expression in order to interact and collaborate, according to the Technology Strategy Board’s director of innovation programmes.

David Bott made the recommendation at an event held to encourage collaboration in science and design on 30 October. The event was organised to generate recommendations for science minister David Willetts.

Bott’s other proposals were to “celebrate the successes” of collaboration between scientists and designers, and for the TSB and the research councils to fund more collaboration in order to “power the next industrial revolution”.
