Bioinformatician Mario Caccamo has been appointed director of the Genome Analysis Centre.
Caccamo was previously deputy and interim director of the centre. He takes up the director’s position on 1 November.
He received his doctoral degree in computer science at the University of Aarhus and has worked at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the European Bioinformatics Institute.
