£1m in infrastructure grants for animal labs

Animal research laboratories are to receive £1 million for shared infrastructure projects under an initiative of the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research.

Proposals for shared tissue banks, databases and equipment across multiple sites are welcomed. The funding is part of the £600m committed to science capital in the government’s autumn statement.
