Twelve projects have won funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council in the latest round of its industrial bioprocessing programme.
A total of £6.5 million has been awarded in the second round of grants from phase 2 of the Bioprocessing Research Industry Club, a partnership between the BBSRC, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, knowledge transfer networks and companies.
BRIC-funded work covers bioprocessing, the use of living cells and their components to manufacture pharmaceutical products, at all scales, from pre-clinical studies to post-licence mass manufacture.
