STFC partners with Unilever on computing

The Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Hartree Centre has signed an R&D agreement in high performance computing with the Unilever corporation.

Under the agreement, scientists at the Hartree Centre will develop software for Unilever that will enable them to run fast simulations of ingredient interactions during the development of new consumer products.

The Hartree Centre was officially opened on 1 February at the STFC’s Daresbury Laboratory in Cheshire. It houses the UK’s most powerful supercomputer.
