EPSRC updates scientific misconduct policy

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has confirmed that its scientific misconduct policy falls in line with those of Research Councils UK and Universities UK.

In an updated policy document, published on 22 March, EPSRC provides examples of unacceptable research conduct, such as plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, improper dealing with allegations of misconduct and failure to address conflicts of interest.

It also outlines: the process for making a complaint; what is expected from peer reviewers and applicants; and what part EPSRC can play in investigations.
