Rothamsted Research has submitted an application to extend its field trial of genetically modified wheat, it announced on 25 March.
The submission—made to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs—will be assessed by the independent Advisory Committee on Releases to the Environment. There will also be a 60-day public consultation.
