Synthetic biology among EPSRC latest fellowship priorities

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has announced it will start offering fellowships in areas including synthetic biology and speech technology.

The announcement was made as part of a statement saying the council will refresh its fellowship priority areas in April and October each year. If it decides to remove an area there will be a six months’ notice period, and new areas will go live straight away.

This year, the council has decided that the following will be become priority areas: synthetic biology; new connections from mathematical sciences; speech technology and materials for energy applications. The two latter areas will be open to early career researchers, while fellowships in new connections from mathematical sciences will be offered to postdoctoral and early career researchers. Synthetic biology will be available to all.
