The Natural Environment Research Council has opened a call for a Centre for Doctoral Training in modelling and quantitative skills in ecology and evolution.
NERC said in a statement launching the CDT call on 8 February that, as environmental science becomes increasingly numerical, the next generation of researchers will need to have a “deep understanding of mathematics and computing”.
The CDT will train UK environmental scientists in data collection, modelling, statistical analysis and inference with input from a range of quantitative disciplines.
