The UK’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council is to replace its First Grants scheme with New Investigator Awards, which have changed eligibility criteria, from the end of July.
In a statement published on 12 July, the council confirmed it had redesigned the grant to recognise the varying needs associated with researchers’ career development.
The First Grants scheme will close on 24 July and the New Investigator Award scheme will open on 25 July.
