The Natural Environment Research Council is working with a group of educational institutions on an initiative aimed at inspiring an interest in environmental science among schoolchildren and their families.
Called Operation Earth, the two-year project will attempt to show the importance of NERC’s research activities to people’s everyday lives and to society’s future.
The project, a collaboration with the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres, will focus on events at 10 major visitor attractions across the country, including the Natural History Museum in London, the Eden Project in Cornwall and Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh.
