UKRI appoints chief finance officer

Ian Kenyon is to become the first chief finance officer of UK Research and Innovation.

Jo Johnson, the universities and science minister, confirmed the appointment on 8 September in a statement.

Kenyon will oversee UKRI’s £6-billion annual portfolio of research funding. This figure is set to rise to £8bn by the end of 2020, as announced during the autumn statement in 2016.
