NIHR provides £30m boost for mental health research

The UK government has allocated up to £30 million of official development assistance funding to support research into mental health problems in low and middle-income countries.

The National Institute for Health Research will award the funding to partnerships between UK researchers and colleagues abroad as part of its Global Health Research Programme.

The grants will be awarded by the NIHR’s Research and Innovation for Global Health Transformation (RIGHT) funding stream through a funding competition opening in January 2019.
