UK Research and Innovation, Britain’s umbrella research funding agency, has signed an agreement to create research partnerships with a group of African universities.
The arrangement between UKRI and the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) aims to strengthen research collaborations and enhance research capacity within both African and UK institutions.
The agreement is part of UK efforts to build research collaborations across the global south through the Global Challenges Research Fund. It will allow researchers to work on a range of issues, including climate change, infectious diseases, extreme poverty, fragile states and insecure food systems.
