AHRC adds partnership director to management team

The Arts and Humanities Research Council has appointed Roey Sweet, a historian at the University of Leicester, to lead its partnerships programme.

As director of partnerships and engagement, Sweet will oversee AHRC’s collaboration with the research organisations that it funds, as well as its international partners. She will also be responsible for engagement with arts and humanities researchers more broadly, the council said in a statement on 21 March.

Sweet is a historian of 18th and 19th-century British urban and cultural history. She is director of the East Midlands Research Initiative, a partnership between the University of Leicester and two stately homes in Northamptonshire, to further academic research into the history of those houses and their families and to provide work experience opportunities for students.
