The Natural Environment Research Council wants to hear from researchers about how to maximise the scientific output of its soon-to-be launched polar research vessel.
NERC could launch the RRS Sir David Attenborough as early as April, but it will not carry researchers to Antarctic or the Arctic until the autumn of 2020 as it will have to undergo a year of sea trials and rehearsals.
The council is inviting scientists to suggest what research they would like to do aboard the ship, and where and when they would like to do it.
