UK Research and Innovation has appointed nine academics to lead the different portfolios of the Global Challenges Research Fund.
The challenge leaders, announced on 12 April, will coordinate GCRF programmes across UKRI, the national academies and the UK Space Agency. They will also identify and develop research opportunities under the fund, it said.
