Tim Wheeler, director of research and innovation at the Natural Environment Research Council, is to manage international affairs at UK Research and Innovation.
The umbrella funding body announced the appointment of Wheeler as its research and innovation director for international on 18 September.
The role involves overseeing UKRI’s international strategy and ensuring its alignment with the government’s broader international strategy for research and innovation. This will include leading UKRI’s work with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on the implications of Brexit.
