£19m in funding aims to digitise museum collections

Money is part of £500m spending on second wave of Strategic Priorities Fund

The government is to invest £19 million over five years to create “pioneering digital catalogues” of the UK’s museum collections.

The funding is provided as part of a £496.8 million second wave of the Strategic Priorities Fund, which aims to support multidisciplinary research that could have been missed through traditional funding channels.
