£34 million in funding to boost autonomous systems

Programme backed by Strategic Priorities Fund aims to ‘address key challenges’ in deploying autonomous robots

A £34 million programme is to research challenges involved in the development and adoption of trustworthy autonomous systems, such as assistive robots designed to help the elderly.

The initiative, announced by UK Research and Innovation on 28 October, will aim at “tearing down barriers that can prevent society from trusting and using” such systems.
