The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council has announced the three winners of its £30-million call for manufacturing research hubs.
The hubs, based at the University of Manchester, the University of Sheffield and Swansea University, will focus on bio-manufacturing, electrical machines and steel production respectively. Each will receive £10m, the EPSRC announced on 11 February.
Research teams at the institutions will work with 67 companies and public bodies, including Tata Steel, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, as well as seven other universities.
