Biomedical Catalyst injects £23m into health innovation

Innovative health research around the country has been awarded £23 million as part of the latest round of the Biomedical Catalyst programme.

Innovate UK and the Medical Research Council, which run the programme together, announced the winners of the scheme’s latest round on 22 March.

The MRC will support six projects including the development of a new antibiotic to treat the bacterial infection most commonly acquired in hospitals, and a new drug to treat anxiety disorders with awards totalling £13.5m.
