The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council has launched a review of data-intensive bioscience and wants input from life scientists.
The BBSRC’s review will cover bioscience research that involves the analysis of large-scale data; the skills needed to undertake this research and the tools needed to process and analyse it. The council said on 1 April that the findings will inform the coming BBSRC’s strategic delivery plan.
The review is intended to help the council understand the research landscape in this area and ensure it can support researchers’ future requirements. The exercise comes as the research councils develop their strategic delivery plans, which will replace the councils’ five-year strategies and are expected to be released in the spring.
