ESRC extends longitudinal research initiative

The Economic and Social Research Council is to extend funding for its Cohort and Longitudinal Studies Enhancement Resources programme until March 2021.

The CLOSER initiative brings together eight studies following large cohorts of people throughout their lives, together with the British Library and the UK Data Service.

The programme received just over £7 million in funding between October 2012 and October 2019, and has now been awarded an additional £1.5m until March 2021, the ESRC said on 12 April.
