An initiative aimed at boosting R&D in UK fashion design and the textile industry has awarded more than half a million in funding to nine projects.
A total of £645,000 was awarded to the projects through the £5.4-million Leeds-based Future Fashion Factory cluster, part of the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s Creative Industries Clusters Programme, the funder announced on 15 August.
Each project will involve a company working together with researchers at the factory’s three academic centres: the University of Leeds, the University of Huddersfield and the Royal College of Art.
