Investment in research and development has grown across the world over the last decade. But behind this picture of rising resources for researchers are different stories, with some nations solidifying existing strength, new players emerging and some major powers stagnating or sliding in their science funding. A report published this month by Research Professional has analysed the trends. All figures are drawn from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development data and given in 2015 US dollar values, adjusted for inflation, unless otherwise stated.
