‘Golden triangle’ institutions dominate UKRI 2019-20 awards

University College London continues to be the most successful institution, with 198 awards

The “golden triangle” of London, Oxford and Cambridge continues to dominate the number and amount of awards won from UK Research and Innovation and its councils, according to the latest awards data.

London-based institutions received 614 awards between 2019 and 2020, the highest of all UK regions, according to the data released on 27 July. The south east came in second place with 416 awards.
