The research council is also investing £5m in an innovation programme at LSE
The Economic and Social Research Council has announced a £32 million Productivity Institute based at the University of Manchester.
Funded by the ESRC through UK Research and Innovation’s Strategic Priorities Fund as well as the Alliance Manchester Business School-led consortium, the institute aims to “advance knowledge and inform significant decisions by policy makers and business leaders to increase productivity”, the research council said on 21 August.
