Bureaucracy reviews launched to reduce burden in UK higher education and research

The government has revealed details of its drive to cut “unnecessary” red tape in R&D as it launched several major reviews into bureaucracy in higher education and research.

The announcement on 10 September says officials are “concerned by a major growth in bureaucracy” in research as well as teaching, and it promises “a substantial reduction in bureaucracy to help focus on what really matters”.
